We have received influenza vaccine (shot) for children aged 6 months to 36 months. The state received additional vaccine which they were not expecting, and they have passed a portion of those doses on to us.
For age 2 and up without asthma, we still have a large quantity of seasonal Flu Mist. There is still time to be protected from seasonal influenza infection. We have multiple weekday flu clinics. Please call to make your appointment.
For children 3 and up with asthma or immune system problems that require the flu shot, we have injectible vaccine available. Please call our office to schedule an appointment.
Remember that children under age 9 receiving flu vaccine for the first time will require a 2nd dose 4-6 weeks after the first dose.
We recommend seasonal flu vaccine for all children but particularly those with chronic illnesses and children under age 5. Remember that seasonal influenza kills 36,000 Americans each winter.
