Katie Harris, MD

Dr. Harris is originally from Greenville, South Carolina. She earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of South Carolina. Following medical school, she completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Her next destination was Children's National in Washington, D.C. for a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology. After five years of practicing pediatric hematology-oncology at the University of Chicago and Mission Hospital in Asheville, Dr. Harris is excited about applying her extensive knowledge of pediatrics to general practice with ABC. She and her husband have two children.

Joanna Hales, MD

Dr. Hales grew up in Orlando, Florida. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies and then studied medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine (but she is still a Gator at heart!). She then completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Post residency training, she and her husband moved to Asheville where she has been working for almost six years as a pediatric hospitalist, caring for hospitalized children from all around our region. She and her husband and their three children consider Asheville home. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, running and painting. Dr. Hales looks forward to joining ABC Pediatrics in early August.
