Dr. Hales grew up in Orlando, Florida. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies and then studied medicine at Florida State University College of Medicine (but she is still a Gator at heart!). She then completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Post residency training, she and her husband moved to Asheville where she has been working for almost six years as a pediatric hospitalist, caring for hospitalized children from all around our region.

She and her husband and their three children consider Asheville home. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, running and painting.
