ABC Pediatrics Vaccine Policy

In our current era of widespread health misinformation, we at ABC Pediatrics firmly believe that vaccines are critical to children's health, both as individuals and as a population. As such, we strongly feel that your child should be vaccinated according to the schedule as set forth by the the American Academy of Pediatrics.

It is our policy that our patients receive vaccinations according the AAP schedule. Seasonal vaccines such as RSV, influenza, and COVID-19 are recommended but not required.

Vaccines are one of the most crucial medical advances of the twentieth century and beyond. Vaccines save lives.

Seasonal Vaccines

We have begun receiving our respiratory season vaccines, namely flu vaccine, RSV immunization for infants under 8 months of age, and updated COVID vaccines. Seasonal vaccines such as RSV, influenza, and COVID-19 are recommended but not required.

If you are interested in getting your child vaccinated or boosted, please contact our office to schedule an appointment.  â€‹

If you have questions about these immunizations, consider speaking with one of our phone nurses or messaging your child's doctor over the portal.

  • We will begin administering RSV immunization (a long acting monoclonal antibody product) on October 1, 2025.

  • The RSV shot should last through your child's first RSV season.

  • All children under 8 months of age (born to mothers who did not receive the RSV vaccine in pregnancy at least 2 weeks prior to delivery) should receive the vaccine, including infants.

  • Only a very few children with significant ongoing risk factors will qualify for the RSV shot in their second season.

  • A recent CDC study of infants receiving the RSV immunization showed that the RSV immunization was 90% effective in preventing hospitalization.

  • We must have your child's insurance information before we can administer the shot--please get your child added to your insurance plan as soon as possible once he or she is delivered.
